The Committee on the protection and representation of incapacitated or protected persons was created under the Public Curator Act (sec. 17.1). Its general mandate is to advise the Curateur public on the protection and representation of incapacitated or protected persons.
The Committee on the protection and representation of incapacitated or protected persons consists of six people appointed by the Minister responsible of the Curateur public, for a renewable term not exceeding three years.
These people are known in their respective communities for their expertise and commitment to incapacitated and protected persons. They also reflect the diversity of the Curateur public's clientele. Its current members are:
The Committee on the protection and representation of incapacitated or protected persons meets three times per year or as necessary, in accordance with the rules it has adopted. These rules stipulate that the quorum required for the drafting of a recommandation is four members.
The Curateur public du Québec provides secretarial services to the Committee.
