You are a tutorship council

You were appointed by the court, on the recommendation of a meeting of the family (relatives or friends) of the person under tutorship or curatorship.

In all your actions, you should be guided by the following principles:

  • An incapacitated person is still a fully-fledged citizen; anyone intervening with them or on their behalf must act in their interests, respecting their rights, autonomy and privacy.
  • Whenever possible, the protected person should be consulted about decisions affecting them; at the very least, they should be informed. If care is proposed for them, they have to consent to it, and their capacity to consent should be verified.
