Protection of persons of full age

Nearly 38,000 people in Québec are represented by a third party as part of a private or public protective supervision measure.

The Curateur public is directly responsible for the protection and representation of nearly 12,500 of these individuals, which mainly takes the form of curatorship or tutorship of an adult. The others, and this includes over 18,000 people, are represented by a family member or loved one.

The Curateur public monitors the administration of some of these private protective supervision measures.
