Administrator other than tutor

In addition to the tutor, the following people may look after part of the child's property:

Important: A tutor may perform the function of both tutor and trustee or liquidator at the same time.

  • estate liquidator (in Québec, an estate is often called a succession);
  • trustee;
  • another person administering the proceeds of an insurance policy (e.g. an annuity associated with life insurance).

The administrator may have powers of simple or full administration. In some cases, they may have the rights and obligations of a tutor to the property and have to report to the Curateur public and a tutorship council.
