Note: This flat rate is payable, at the latest, upon the lifting of protective supervision in the case of public protective supervision, or upon the rendering of the judgment in the case of private protective supervision.

  • The replacement of hourly fees by a flat rate is designed to simplify the process and does not in itself either increase or reduce the revenues generated by the charging of fees.
  • Staff are assigned files based on the complexity of the tasks entailed; for example, administration of real estate or the choice of annuities.

Waiving of fees

Under the law, the Curateur public has discretion regarding the charging of fees. It has drafted a directive according to which fees will not be charged if the three following conditions are met:

  • The person’s monthly income does not exceed the amount of the maximum old age pension benefit This link will open in a new window. plus the guaranteed income supplement for a single person;
  • The person has cash holdings of not more than $2,500;
  • AND the value of the person’s net assets does not exceed $130,000.
